Del Negro to Coach Clippers

Some good news for the Clippers, as they finally have their head coach Vinny Del Negro. He’s been able to help a team even when things aren’t looking that good, and I think it’s a good thing for the Clippers. It’s definitely a step up from anything they’ve had recently. The Clippers have a good team and I think the key is right coaching, and staying healthy. I’m looking at you Blake!

Lebron Says Cavs Have Edge

So in a recent interview, Lebron James stated that so far he is not anywhere close to making a decision on who he will sign with. He did say that the Cavs do have an edge though, mainly because of the city and its fans. However, he did say that he did want to win a championship there, and it didn’t happen. Lebron also said that he will meet with Free Agents Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade to talk about their future plans. When the thought of playing for the Clippers was mentioned, he said this:

“They’ve got some really good players. Some really nice, solid pieces that, if they add a free agent here or a free agent there, it could be a really good team. It’s a great city. But at the same time, it’s not always about the city. It’s about winning. If you put me and Bosh on the same team, if you put me and Dwayne Wade on the same team, a lot of teams would be much better. You know, the Cavs would be much better.”

Griffin Back to 100%

Ok, so the Clippers didn’t get 1st pick this year like we(WDD) dreamed, but last years 1st pick, Blake Griffin is now officially back to 100%. Sources report that Griffin, who did not play a single game last year, is officially practicing with absolutely no restrictions. The goal now, is for him to stay healthy.

Some feel that the ultimate upgrade would be to sign the biggest free agent we all know, Lebron James. Clearly he would fit right in, the Clippers have Baron Davis at pg, plus a good center in Kaman who averaged 18.5 ppg last year. There are key pieces to the puzzle that would mix well with a dominant player like Lebron at his position. The starting line-up would probably look like this: PG:Baron Davis, SG:Eric Gordon, SF:Lebron James, PF: Blake Griffin, and C:Chris Kaman. Now if that doesnt get your attention, then i don’t know what would. I assume the only things that would prevent Lebron from coming to the Clippers, would be the obvious reputation of the team, and the fact that it’s the Western Conference. This should be an interesting off-season, to say the least.

NBA: What to Watch For [05/18]

Not only do we have Game 2 of the Magic-Celtics series, but we also have the NBA Draft Lottery as well. Today is an important day in the NBA. For the Orlando Magic its a must-win, since they already lost game 1 at home. If Celtics beat them twice on their homecourt, it won’t be looking pretty for the Magic. Now with the Draft Lottery, many feel that today could foreshadow where Lebron will end up next year. If someone like the Nets happen to get 1st pick, we would all assume that they would take PG John Wall. Perhaps this would intrigue Lebron a little more to decide to sign with New Jersey. However, we here at WatDaDickens are hoping for another Clipper steal this year, even though they only have a 2.3% chance of getting first, as opposed to New Jersey’s 25%, Minnesota’s 19.9%, and Sacramento’s 15.6%.
